It Speaks (for the most part)
At 28 months the Tornado’s is speaking so clearly. She puts sentences together and is able to tell us what she wants or needs. Actually, she basically protests everything we want her to do with her favorite word, “NO.” But, really she is really sweet. ”Daddy catch” or ” sit now” and “here, try this” are my favorites as she actually wants to play with me. Tornado is still interested in Daddy. She even know her alphabet, and I mean actually knows the letters. She won’t sing the song, but she points at her blocks and says the letters and numbers (up to nine).
Reading is really cool with the Tornado as well. She loves books, always has, and she’ll bring me a book, but she reads it now. We sit together and she turns the pages and points out all the pictures that she knows like rock, tiger, elephant, snow, sky, etc. Each page is an adventure. After she is done with the pictures she then picks out the letters she knows. It is so cute. Really makes you appreciate how quickly she is growing.
I came out the other morning and she was looking at a parenting magazine my wife subscribes to and she went “sssh” and began reading out loud. None of the words she said were to legible, but I am sure you get the drift. Also, when you talk to her and she will get excited and start rattling off speeches that aren’t quite clear, but she is getting there.
Don’t worry the Tornado is still her wild energetic self, despite how much she grows. She still tears up a room with the greatest of ease. Her new thing is spinning around in a circle real fast and then running away, normally into a wall or couch. So the Tornado still lives up to her name.
