Change Has Come
I try not to be too political on my site, but just wanted to briefly address the past election. It is refreshing to wake up the day after election day and actually feel refreshed. This was a feeling that I haven’t felt in a long time. I am registered as an Independent, but have voted Democrat in every Presidential election since I could vote, but like to keep an open mind when in the box.
This past election was a no brainer for me as W. made such a mess of things the last 8 years there was no way I was voting for McCain, baby W., and Palin, the big brain. Yes, I am married to a black woman and yes, my daughter is multiracial, but the only color that mattered to me on election day was blue. Red was an evil color as far as I was concerned on election day. I voted blue through and through. My biggest concern with McCain was his judgment. His selection of Palin as his running mate caused me to question his sanity and his seriousness. I feel like he was making a mockery of the whole process by selecting an individual so obviously unprepared to become VP. Either he was not serious about becoming president or he was demented. Not exactly the kind of traits you want from a leader.
Back to President-elect Obama- he has the deck stacked in his favor and should come out of the gate strong. Change has come, I hope. Oops, the skeptic in me has come out. I will believe it when I see it. Obama talks a great game and know he has to come through. I will give him time as he has plenty of issues to overcome, but he has all the eyes of the world on him and expectations are extremely high. Good luck to him for all of our sakes.
I hope he does a good job because I fear what will happen if he does not. I have to agree though, McCain’s choice in VP cast serious doubt on his ability to make rational judgments. At least he showed his true colors before winning. LOL
