Beer Review
Sorry the beer review has been postponed as quite frankly I do not feel well today. Check in tomorrow for my pick of the week and the beer review will come on Monday.
Who wants a beer?
I am testing a new weekly post idea, the beer review. I figure that every Saturday, another toast to the weekend, will be dedicated to trying different beers. One beer a week, specific beer line and not necessarily one bottle, will be tested. This is of course for the benefit of all who are over the legal drinking age and at no time should an individual under the legal drinking age consume one of these alcoholic beverages. Hey all dad’s could use a cold brew once and again. As usual I digress so back to the topic. Now when I say beer review I mean something different. There will be no Michelob, Heineken, or other major beer, unless perhaps they come out with a new line or flavor, perhaps. So please let me know what you think of the idea and send some beer suggestions.
This week’s selection is Harp Lager. Harp is from the illustrious Guinness brewers and is actually my favorite beer to drink. It has all the benefits of Guinness Draught without its weaknesses, except for the great head (get your head out of the gutter (yes I said head twice (really now you are just being childish))) of Guinness Draught. Harp, which is best when it is ice cold, has more than a hint of that distinct Guinness taste, but does not overpower you or turn bitter. The lager goes down much smoother than the draug
ht, which allows for
more consumption and no bloated feeling. When you take a long gulp from the dark brown bottle of Harp with it’s manly navy blue label you know you’re drinking a man’s lager. It is not infused with cherries, chocolate, or any other of the hundreds of chic ingredients that drive beer prices up. This is just an unpretentious beer for true beer lovers who don’t just drink beer to get drunk. Harp is for those who appreciate beer for its taste rather than its low cost.
Next week’s selection will be a more off the beaten path selection that I have not picked yet. Please tell me what you think of my weekly beer review idea, honestly please. Love and Hate comments are appreciated and will be posted for all to see. And please send me some suggestions, even the chic orange or ginger infused micro-brews can be reviewed. Whatever you like I will try. Not the next one, but soon I will have to taste the Guinness 250th anniversary limited edition beer as I love Guinness too, but don’t want to make this an official Guinness site.
